GlusterFS is really a nice solution for those of us that would like a bit more flexibility in network storage solutions. I recently did a GlusterFS install on a QNAP TS-412U ARM based NAS. A really nice box that offers a LOT of extras.

The bad news is that GlusterFS does not officially support the ARM processor. The good news is that if you want (or are allowed) to install Debian then feel free and you will have very little problem getting things going. If you are in my situation where installing Debian is not an option then you will have to make sure you get your box setup correctly before you install GlusterFS.
